This recipe is very easy

Bacon & Black Plum Marmalade

30 minutes Cook time 15 minutes Prep time 4 to 6 servings



On the stove

  1. Sauté the bacon in a large pot over medium-high heat for approximately 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. Add the shallot and continue cooking for 1 minute. Add the plums and brown sugar; continue cooking over high heat for 5 minutes.
  3. Deglaze with the vinegar and add the maple syrup. Simmer for 5–10 minutes or until the marmalade is nice and thick. Season with pepper.
  4. Pour into Mason jars. The marmalade will keep in the refrigerator for a few weeks.
