Fitcook bacon pork burgers

Preparation

On the stove

Patty

  1. Place all patty ingredients in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and mix well.
  2. With wet hands, form 4 patties.
  3. Cook patties in a skillet over medium heat (or on the BBQ) for 3–4 minutes on each side. Set aside.

Coleslaw

  1. Place sour cream, sesame oil, orange juice, maple syrup and rice vinegar in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper and whisk together. Add all other coleslaw ingredients and mix well.
  2. Assemble burgers with toasted buns, hot sauce, patties, caramelized onions, coleslaw and microgreens.

Caramelized onion

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, spray with camelina oil and add chopped bacon and onions. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring regularly.
  2. Add all other caramelized onion ingredients to skillet. Continue cooking for 15–20 minutes, stirring regularly. Set aside.
