This recipe is very easy

Charcuterie and cheese board, bacon candied onion and honey caramelized nuts

Note : If short on time, serve nuts plain.

Bacon candied onion

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté bacon until golden brown and crispy. Drain and set aside on a dish lined with paper towel.
  2. In the same skillet, over medium heat, melt butter and sauté onion until tender and browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add maple syrup, vinegar and wine. Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. Add bacon and simmer very gently, uncovered, for about 5 minutes or until onion is caramelized and translucent. Let cool.
  4. Serve at room temperature. Can be stored in the fridge for at least 2 weeks.

In The Oven

Honey caramelized nut

  1. Preheat oven to 165 °C (325 °F).
  2. 2- In a bowl, mix nuts, honey and cayenne pepper. Spread over a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for about 18–20 minutes. Sprinkle generously with fleur de sel. Let cool.
